Zero Semester is offered by Virtual University of Pakistan for those students who get Third Division in their academic career and due to their third division are unable to pursue further studies. Due to some unavoidable circumstances and rapid changes in educational policies, many students passed their exams with a third division. Now they do not want to waste their time improving intermediate marks. This zero semester is designed for those students to continue their studies hassle-free. Zero semester offered by Virtual University is a blessing in disguise for such students.
Students are eligible to get admission in specific ADP or BS Programs after successful completion of Zero Semester.
How to Get Admission in Zero Semester
If a student does not have minimum required Marks 45% for VU offered programs he may apply for Zero Semester. Virtual University designs this semester for those students who passed their intermediate with a third division. Students apply for Admission Online and after selecting Zero Semester they get a list of Programs in which they can apply after successful completion of Zero Semester.
Zero Semester Subjects
Zero Semester Passing Marks
Students have to pass all three subjects in one semester and have to get 50% Marks to pass each Subject. Students have to get 60% Marks / 2.0 GPA to qualify Zero Semester.

Note: Getting admission in Zero semester is not guaranteed to get admission to the next program. If a student passes Zero Semester then he can get admission to the next Program. Zero semester is only offered for admission at Virtual University of Pakistan.
Programs Not Offered With Zero Semester
All programs except these Programs are offered after the successful completion of the Zero-Semester:
- MS Computer Science
- BS programs in English (Applied Linguistics), Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Zoology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering.
- ADP programs in Computer Networking, Database Management Systems, Web Design and Development, Computer Science, Education, Early Childhood Care and Education, English (Applied Linguistics), Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Zoology, and Mathematics.
- Diploma programs in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Linguistics, and English Language Teaching (ELT).

A “Zero Semester” for undergraduate programs is designed to help individuals who are looking to gain admission to Diploma, Associate Degrees, or Bachelor (4-year) programs when it’s applicable.
